OBSV will obtain your authorization prior to collecting and processing your personal data. Therefore, we ask you – as a very first step -- to review our Personal Data Privacy Statement. If you decide you are not ready to submit your accreditation/uniform application or your personal profile to OBSV, simply exit the browser without logging in.
The information you submit for OBSV accreditation/uniform application process has to be complete and accurate. Providing false or incorrect information during any of the steps of the accreditation/uniform application process could lead to your rejection or termination.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
You can visit our website and learn about our activities without providing personal information. However, to obtain an Olympic accreditation and a uniform you need to provide personal information.
Personal information is information that can identify you such as your full name, nationality, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number. We collect personal information to submit to the Organizing Committee for a background check by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). This background check is a precondition for all personnel to be issued with the Olympic accreditation required for the position for which you have been hired. We use personal information you provide only for purposes consistent with the reason for which you provide it: Olympic Accreditation, Transportation, Games-Time Accommodation and to be able to provide you with a uniform.
OBSV strives to keep your personal information accurate. We are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. Please make sure that the data that you are submitting is accurate and updated by carefully checking the information. You can view and update your information as many times as you wish before making your final submission. OBSV can not see your information in the OBSV database until it is confirmed and submitted.
Our website, email and other interactive programs are intended to provide you with information concerning your eventual travel details, your work schedule and to whom and when you should report upon arrival. They are not designed to send any communications or information except for the purposes set forth above.
You can also request removal from the OBSV database and can prevent further use of your personal information through this Privacy Statement once the purpose for your personal information is no longer necessary (i.e., the end of the Olympic Games and/or the Paralympic Games).
